Many congratulations to two PhDs of the Basins Group in Manchester, Andrew Newton and NARG student Tim Luber, on receiving the University of Manchester Doctoral College Excellence Award for Best Output and Best Contribution to the PGR Environment respectively. These highly prestigious awards are presented by the Manchester Doctoral College (MDC) annually. Tim was awarded the Best Contribution to the PGR Environment for an outstanding achievement and a positive contribution towards the postgraduate environment, demonstrating innovation and creativity in his actions whilst being an inspirational role model to other students.

Tim and other members of NARG have been involved in running field trips both for academics across different universities and industry companies in Morocco. They have further shaped and enhanced the experience of the postgraduate research environment in student societies. Additionally, they have drawn in researchers from different disciplines (External Collaborators) broadening the range of research conducted within the North Africa research group and at the University of Manchester.
