Congratulations to NARG PhD student Max Casson on the award of an ECORD Research Grant supporting NARG's re-evaluation of International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) core material held in the core repository in Bremen, Germany. This merit-based award for outstanding young scientists will sponsor NARG activities to conduct innovative research related to the IODP. The research may be directed toward the objectives of upcoming or past DSDP/ODP/IODP expeditions, using previously captured core material. Max and Jason Jeremiah have conducted two sampling trips to Bremen studying old core data across the Central Atlantic region.
